Basically Mysore is situated in south India, and it is the second largest city of Karnataka. There are lots of splendid places for visiting in Mysore. Let us have a brief idea about these places. The name ‘mysore' came from its ancient name ‘mahishuru', which was related to ‘mahishashur' who was Indian mythological demon. So Mysore has a very close relation with mythology and with temples. 3. Himada gopalswamy temples: This place situates 3.9 miles from the city centre. Himada gopalswamy temple is a well known temple of lord Krishna in Mysore.

6. Srirangapattam: it is an epic centre which is well known in whole world. Srirangapattam holds great historical values. At the kushan and mourya dynasty, srirangapattam was the most important place in both business and finance. It holds all the memory of 12th century dynasty. Moreover, in British period, when French rulers started a battle with British, that time srirangapattam was the main headquarter of French rulers. Still this place holds lot of wreckages of those times.

7. Maharaja palace (amba villa): this palace is a pride of south India. This palace was constructed in 1912. It contains all kind of masterpiece Indian and British designs. Amba villa is one of the largest palaces in the country. In British period, this was the palace of great king raja gopalswamy.

8. Mysore zoo: this is another important visiting place in Mysore. This place is also known as Sri Chamarajendra zoological garden. This 19th century zoo is famous for breeding much rare kind of animals such as, white tigers, white lions, barking dear, golden monkey, and lots of rare birds.

9. Melody world wax museum: Melody World Wax Museum is based on music and musical instruments. This place is one-of-its kind in the World Wax museum which exhibits over 100 life-size wax statues and over 300 musical instruments. Some very are musical instruments, which was used in early days, can be found in this museum. Not only Indian, many western and ancient Asian musical instruments are exhibited here.
